Just finished reading AoT

it was hard to read but was fun.

but i don’t really get what’s going on overall, because, there’s so many characters and some of them are believing fake/exaggerated/misinterpreted history and act too emotional or too psychopathic… can’t actually believe anything the characters are saying until the end… not really sure what the author wanted to deliver… once they’re about virtue of sacrifice then the disaster of pressuring one to sacrifice?? Then acting for one’s emotion and then following army rules?? but i get it because what human would do in dire situations like natural disaster, war, etc is up to one’s imagination and there’s a lot of perspectives irl. In the end it narrows down to ‘hate and war is the main problem’.

Attack titan’s design is really cool.

i scrolled through wiki and..HANJI’S GENDER IS UNKNOWN??!????!?!? HUH?????

I THOUGHT HANJI WAS MALE?!!!????

(there’s no gendered terms in korean)

I like how everyone did some bullshit at least once but ended up sharing their opinions in the end.

tbh i think i went through and self-censored everyone’s opinion once in my lifetime.(please don’t cancel me)

i’ll go to ao3 to resolve what the ending couldn’t resolve now….

Whaaaat I didn't know that about Hanji. I watched the anime first and due to the voice acting I always thought they were female 😳

I just searched and found some anime screenshots, and hanji this version seems much more feminine than the manga version!!

AoT was one of the strongest disappointments for me. So many plot threads left unresolved or unused, so many contradictions in lore and story, the lame physiology of Titans, and total undermining of promises, ideas and principles declared in the first parts of the story. Like, total. Yes, the characters are good, the tension is good, the conflict scale is big. But in the end everything is meaningless because the plot is totally messed up. I have a strong feeling that the author changed it midway through to appeal some demands from third party.

personally i think the story was toooo big for one author, slipping out of his control at one point… maybe he knew what he wanted to talk about but didn’t know how to end it.

@mahogare
Yeah, might be the case. As soon as they slipped into "there's a whole big world out there" it spiraled out of control

I think if they went north, where there are comparatively weaker titans they would have found out that there's an ocean without having to sacrifice so much. I'm sure they can survive the weather conditions, especially Eren and Levi.
